Special Kids is a certified Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF) provider through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Being a CORF certifies that Special Kids is a medical facility that provides outpatient diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative services at a single fixed location for the rehabilitation of injury, disability, or sickness. This care is commonly known as outpatient rehabilitation care. Referring physicians to Special Kids must draw up treatment plans and review them at least every 60 days.

From that first September morning in 1998 to this very day, Special Kids mission is to serve Jesus Christ by caring for His children with special healthcare needs. Carrie Goodwin, and her father, Dick Kleinau, founded Special Kids to help children with special needs get affordable healthcare and therapy. They envisioned a place where all children would be cared for regardless of ability to pay.

At Special Kids Chattanooga, we believe every child who needs therapy should be able to get it. That is why we provide physical, occupational, speech, and feeding therapy to help children with special healthcare needs grow strong and reach their goals. We partner with doctors, schools, and local groups to support families every step of the way. Our care is easy to access, affordable, and built around each child’s unique needs.
